Knitting on with the Ravelympics!

Up to my eyeballs in Merino during the Ravelympics and loving every moment of it!

Too much prep time and hype and nerves during the LAST ravelympics, so this time, i did nothing to prepare. I chose a pattern I have been wantng to knit for years now and it is also on my 10 in 2010 projects, so thought I could knock out both by doing the Clapotis. Love Love Love this pattern. Now, I don't figure out the patterns easily, dont; memorize them when I knit, as I knit mindlessly, but this one is easy enough for me. very pretty pattern and knits up easily, just alot of knitting!

I had cast on during the opening ceremonies and spent a few days last week not knitting, but for the most part, have knit every night. I only have 5 more days to get this done and have no intentions of failing!

Using the gorgeous yarn I had in stash, Fiesta Boomerang in the Sedona colorway, it's FABULOUS! I know I will love this and wear it alot, especially at the over air conditioned office.

Tuesday Night Group Therapy

Tuesday nights I get together with a small group of friends near the house, so that we can knit. The conversations, show and tells and new patterns and books often get in the way and very little, sometimes none, knitting ever gets done. But if this ritual was to go away, I would be a very sad knitter. I look forward to the setting aside of the days troubles, work issues, house that needs cleaning and the dogs climbing on me. This is just a small section of my life, 2 hours a week, that I get to spend tiem doing what I love. If you don't have one of these groups in your lives, I would highly recommend starting one, or finding one, It doesn' thave to involve knitting, just any time you can hook up with friends, in a small setting and enjoy the company.

Gotta love the fridays

perhaps my favorite day of the week, as there 66 hours of me time, the best time there is. Time to do whatever I please, starting the moment I drive out of the parking lot at work.

Not that I mind work, I love the competitiveness of my job and the mental tests that are thrown at me daily, but there is so much more I could do if I didn't have to work for a living. Think of all of the knitting I could do, and the traveling, and the cooking (I could LEARN to cook!) and the reading and the shopping.......

Gotta love the fridays, my 66 hours starts in just 2 hours 15 mins, not that I am counting:)
